After opting to bowl first, TKR looked to bowl tight lines and keep on putting pressure on SLK. The openers got to a flier of a start but had no answers for Sunil Narine’s mystery with the ball. TKR kept on picking wickets which halted the momentum of the kings. Narine and Salamkheil spun a web around the kings while Hinds and skipper Pollard also contributed with important wickets. Despite the fall of wickets, SLK managed to reach a competitive total of 187 courtesy of Roston Chase’s unbeaten half century and Du Plessis' wonderful knock.

TKR aimed to start off the chase with aggressive intent and a positive mindset. Both openers were in mood to attack the bowlers and put on a great opening stand. However, TKR lost both their openers early in an attempt to score quick runs. SLK looked to put more pressure on TKR, but young Shaqkere Parris had different plans. He blasted off to a half century in just 20 balls to reduce all the pressure of losing wickets. TKR looked on course to chase the total but a middle order collapse halted their momentum. Skipper Kieron Pollard came to the crease with his team in a bit of trouble and did what he always does - finished off the game. Pollard just came in and smashed the SLK bowlers to every part of the ground and raced to a 19 ball half-century. With 27 needed off 11 balls Pollard took TKR to victory by hitting 4 massive sixes of the penultimate over. TKR remained unbeaten over SLK at this venue and picked up another two important away points. A performance that Pollard and his boys will be proud of. TKR will be aiming to continue their winning momentum and keep picking up crucial points.
