Blistering knocks from the Top order keep TKR in pole position

It is 3 / 3 after the Trinbago Knight Riders 3rd outing in the 2020 season of the CPL. The victory was setup by top order batsmen Munro, DM Bravo and Pollard, all of whom took to the pitch almost instantly, with our bowlers pitching in later to make short work of the Tridents’ partnerships.
Colin Munro put on a remarkable 50 (off 30) seemingly tending to unfinished business from our last outing with the Jamaica Tallawahs. Our bowlers kept the Tridents in check, finishing the 20 over match, disallowing the 19 runs needed.
This day will possibly be remembered because the rain preceded the TKR thunder. With the toss going in favour of the Barbados Tridents, our batsmen who’ve been raring to go since the season started finally got their cue. Our playing 11 remained unchanged since the match-up did not warrant any particular changes in strategy.
Simmons started off with a couple of boundaries and six that set the tone for the innings, despite him and Narine not staying at the crease too long after. And then came Munro!
From the get go, it was Munro’s day to shine, whose brightness possibly brought the sun out to compete later on. Unfortunately, his party was interrupted at 50, only to be carried on by DM Bravo’s responsible knock turned blazer (54* off 36) which also rang in 3000 T20 runs for him! Bravo was soon joined by Skipper Pollard (41* off 17) whose monstrous maximums kept the opposition in check, while their unbeaten partnership of 98 saw our turn to bat right through to the end.
The end of innings was marked by a six from Bravo that brought up his 50 and tallied us in at 185/3.
Johnson Charles (52 off 33) managed to hit the ground running and was the most dangerous man in the opposition until Fawad Ahmed stepped in to blow away his off stump. This was the chink in the armour that exposed the Tridents to the onslaught. Taking the opportunity, almost every bowler in our arsenal stepped up to the challenge taking home 1 wicket each (Fawad Ahmed 1-14, Narine 1-17, Pierre 1-19 & Ali Khan 1-32). The young Seales came through when given the opportunity to bowl the last over and stepped up to the task by bringing home a wicket and leaving the Barbados Tridents 19 runs short of the target.
DJ Bravo came close, but wasn’t able to ring in his 500th T20 wicket today. Looks like you’ll need to keep watching to not miss the historic moment.
